Agartha Farm Animal Sanctuary started in March 2020. When it start, we didn’t know that we where being guided into a story of rescuing and farm animals. But with love and compassion, we trusted that we were going to be always guided to the best right move. The first two beings came to us, they where ready for their new home; two little lambs at a nearby meat farm. After some talking and meeting them, we felt the calling into adopting them. I remember we went home, and couldn’t stop thinking about one of the little lamb. Unfortunately, most, if not all of those lambs would end up as livestock, and butchered for their meat once they reached a certain weight. And thats the truth and reality of livestock livelihoods. We took two in that day and gave them a home in one of our sheds. I spent hours researching on how to give these animals the best help, accommodations and resources to give them a chance at life. We had bottle fed them until they where able to eat hay and grain on their own. That’s how we started; out of love and compassion for these sentient beings rather than being mad or angry at the world. We knew the truth - these lambs were bred for meat, but we understand and respect everyones own choice.

Our story came more from a place of wanting to observe and experience how these farm animals developed. Little did we know that they where very affectionate and the bond we started developing with them slowly started to change our lives completely. After that, we got the calling to rescue goats, so we took in kid goats. We drove far away throughout Central New York to meet people and adopt their kid goats. Goats also are a high demand in the meat industry. The kid goats we rescued were even more intelligent and affectionate than the little lambs we had. Occasionally, we would take everyone (the herd of lambs and kids) into the woods out back for walks and the joy of seeing them happy would make our days.

We wanted to rescue all kinds of farm animals, but unfortunately we also had to be responsible and only take the ones we really could handle . Then two months after, we got the calling to rescue Alpacas and Chickens. The alpacas came to us in different groups. They really took their time to open up and be friendly with us. Some came from good loving people that simply just had too many and some came from not so good situations, but we understood that everyone tried their best and these animals also manifest their reality. The alpacas are very interesting and as big as they may look, they are a bit skirmish. They are very curious beings and love exploring nature so much. They are like our family also, they have good days and some not so good days, but over all very interesting to watch. After the alpacas, then the chicken mission started. We started to rescue chicken from awful conditions, and provide them a loving home here at the animal sanctuary. Chickens are really something else, they are funny and very intelligent. I see them as little angels. They can be fragile, yet strong! Watching their behavior is very interesting. For example, the rooster will dance around the hen with one leg to lure the hen into his embrace.

We call our farm animals our “Angel Refugees” because after all, thats what they get here at our farm. An abundance resourced place fill with love and care for all beings who come. We volunteer all the time to make sure they get the best life. Some of them are permanent and have strong bonds with us and some are being fostered until they are ready to go to their next best home. We have many stories on many animals that we rescued and ended up finding better homes for them. Our mission is not to save all the animals but focus on the small numbers of farm animals we currently volunteer to and allow them to live a life free of high and troubled demands that may cross their boundaries. Kind of like allowing this small family to experience as much expansion as possible for the collective of farm animals. They are part of our family, if not the family that the universe currently has aligned us to. We also understand that other people need or want to have high demands on their farm “livestock” animals and thats on them, after all everyone has free will. We also want to show the world that these animals are sentient beings, despite the high demands humans can have on them and the unconscious speciesism humans carry towards animals. Our journey with them started out of wanting to connect to other beings, and we are so grateful from everything we have learned from them. We also dont think we are better than anyone, and humble with our origins.

In fact, we are vegan and would never eat our animals, they are brothers and sisters to us. We are different, we can see past their physical body and connect with them from within. I look at my favorite sheep, Butters, and I can literally feel when he lets me know that he loves me. Our goal is for them to get to experience Joy, Harmony and Love while their journey here in this reality.
